I disagree with your ’assumption(s)’, specifically: “the massive jump attributed to a few squashed intense generations from mastaba's to step (Djoser), based on a few discovered cartouches with names such as three different designs and construction techniques in one apparent (alt meaning option 2)pharaohs lifetime (Sneferu) immediately followed by different techniques assumed to belong to the very next generation with no "apparent" (meaning 1) basis than a guess?”
I do not view the determined efforts of a score of ruling Kings, spanning a half-millennium as a “the massive jump attributed to a few squashed intense generations...”. Nor do I consider the clear incremental evolution of methods, skills and practices as a mere ”guess”.
