Now you are just mincing words. This discussion had been going on for days before you showed up so in context there were others involved. No one else not even loveritas, an opinion I actually respect, recognized they were not Greek. And you said:
They're not all Greek, are they? What are the non-Greek symbols?
So please do not say you "recognized they were likely not Greek". Obviously you thought some were and some were not. And again you misrepresent what is being said in that it does not matter whether they are Greek or Arab because all Cladking did was look at a picture he literally knew nothing about and offered nothing but baseless unwarranted speculation based on complete ignorance. I understand how you would defend this because you do exactly the same thing. Apparently I am missing the point as I am not sure why when or where this is has anything to do with your vaunted "standard of proof". Apparently this only applies to everyone else.
And I thanked Audrey for correcting me. Someone who has openly professed to hate my guts infinity times infinity no less. Why do I do this? Why not just ignore her or try to spin it or challenge it in some vain self-serving attempt to save face like some I know here so often do? Because of my "super-ego"? My "lack of humility and civility"? Your own insults betray you. I am only here for the truth, even at my own expense, and I prove it every day I am here none more so than by consistently taking responsibility for my actions. Can you say the same? That's a rhetorical question by the way.
Regardless, I am more than happy to stand corrected as the fact it is 19th century Arabic and not Roman only further vindicates my greater point. When I researched this it was apparent some nilometers were added by the Romans and others by the Arabs. The characters "looked Greek to me" which the sources I could find pictured them when specifically speaking of the Roman nilometers. An understandable and in the end completely trivial error.

We will have to agree to disagree here. And I have known Cladking for 3yrs or so now and have had many exchanges with him so he knows it is not personal and I am just speaking plainly. Obviously though my comments to him struck a nerve quite a little too close to home for you.
> You seem unable to allow

Total nonsense and you know it. If Cladking is going to make some fantasy up about these nilometers I am more than happy to listen as long as he has made at least some effort to actually understand what it is instead of just making stuff up out of thin air from a picture he saw on a forum. He is more than free to do so, but so am I to take exception to it.

If only you were not so self-absorbed you'd realize how ridiculous of a statement that it to make of me. And please don't confuse valid hypothesis with self-serving made up BS. Yeah, that I do have no "middle ground" for.
We done yet? The last week or so has been quite pleasant here for some reason so let's not spoil it for the rest, huh?
