The Protzen Papers show the many similarities of Incan and Egyptian stone-cutting, and are very informative overall. Worth pursuing for those willing to learn.
There's one more German-authored early account, (pre-1900) of Tia, I'm still looking for it....
FYI: Andecite is NOT granite-never was-and never will be, and is easier to work than granite.
The greyish colored stones @ Tiawanaku and Puma Punku are Andecite. The brownish colored stones @ Tiawanaku, and Puma Punku, (P.P.) are sandstone...this includes the 'H-Blocks', the large platforms, the 'Sun Gate', etc. The 'Sun Gate' was moved, (some 150 yards, IIRC) from its original position some decades ago.
Recent pics should not be used for research purposes. Besides the mass-quantities of stone-pillaging that has occurred, many of the remaining stones have been moved, reset, etc. and usually NOT to their original positions.
The Pre Incas used a copper/arsenic/nickel alloy to make their tools. They did use hammerstones as well. Also, they used pumice to polish the stones.
The shores of Lake Titicaca may have extended to P.P. at one time, but about 4,000 B.C. the lake-level dropped substantially. Also, much of Tiawanaku, etc. was covered in over 9 feet of mud, etc. during at least one major flash-flood event centuries ago of the river in the Basin that flows TO THE NORTH.
Campbell's Chamber roof blocks are Tura Limestone until proven otherwise.
THE Cartouche in Campbell's Chamber IS Authentic, as are ALL other RC's Glyphs, until proven otherwise.
