Hi David, It's always a difficult subject to broach as you open yourself up to personal attack. Myself, I haven't tried entheogens but I have experienced several different forms of altered states over the years. There are many ways to ascend the ladder. Kudo's to Mark for starting many interesting discussions on GHMB. Pete David Campbell wrote: > Hi, Pete, > I concur with all you

Hi David, Mark may have been playing with words but he might have unconsciously hit on something very valid. I looked into the subject of entheogen use in symbolic terms many years ago. I only wished I had keyed in what I had found at the time as my memory is fuzzy on some of my sources. I've pulled out a dozen books and its a daunting task to go looking through them to collaborate what I remem

Robert, Thank you for posting and participating in this forum. Although, I haven't got Jonathan's book yet as the mail is slow from the UK across the pond. Hopefully, in the next few days it will arrive. The last time I responded to one of your posts many years ago I was promptly banned from GHMB but do to your desire to respond in a vein similar to your post above I was quickly reinstated.

Gary & Philip, The fact that two very different and diverse individuals can collaborate on such a complex number of beliefs and philosophies and still maintain their sanity and friendship is an example for us all. I also think that when the final truth is known, true balance is the prerequisite for understanding the hidden mysteries of life. Whether we achieve that on our own or with the hel

Hi Claude, We all pass through a hypnogogic state as an intermediate step between wakefulness and the sleep state. Our ability and adeptness at recognizing and staying in this state is an art form. ;-) You also go through the opposite effect upon waking and it is called a hypnopompic state. Of course meditating can get you to the same place but I find it easier just to put a suggestion into m

Hi Gary, I am very much enjoying the work and postings of you and Philip and the discussions it has generated. It seems that most people regardless of their personal beliefs have been able to find threads of commonality with what you have to say. I have ordered your new book and I'm looking forward to reading it. I will leave you with one symbol that has always fascinated me. The skull and cro

Philip, Here are some passages from Gerald Massey's Ancient Egypt-The Light of the World Volume 1 Book 5. Although, the chapter is much too long to post in it's entirety it is well worth the read, as is the whole book which Claude was able to find in ebook format. I will leave it to the reader to discern what the meanings of the Serpent or the Dragon really are. Those that espouse that nothing

Hi Philip, Here is part of an essay on the Tree of Knowledge & the Wily Serpent . Pete THE WILY SERPENT Equally revolutionary in its significance must be seen to be the next point of exegesis,—that of the identity of the character of the “serpent” in the drama. The grand enlightenment which the creation story was designed to give the world has been sadly bedimmed by our sheer inability pr

Peter, It's sort of strange how things work sometimes but when I started going into depth on the roots of religion I aquired a rather large number of authors on the subject. I stumbled onto Massey and Kuhn more by good luck than good management. Along the way I aquired The Jesus Mysteries and Jesus and The Lost Goddess. After reading The Jesus Mysteries I looked in the bibliography fully expecti

I did find away to deal with the nightmares and also channel the energy around to manage it. Its like having a Pandora's Box sitting there.
