in hancocks supernatural, he talks of francis cricks admission that it was because he was on lsd that helped him to unravel the structure of dna, crick goes on to talk about aliens seeding the universe with their dna to account for dna complexity, the gist of the book is interaction with extra dimensional alien intelligence by altered states of mind, basically...

i think your confusing how with why, maybe the mental hospital patients brains are tuned a little differently, i think thats kind of the point of the brain as receiver argument, also, arent some shamans considered madmen by their own tribes?, im still blown away by how certain little molecules can affect brain chemistry to obliterate your beliefs and ego everytime, think im overdue myself, it is

i hope ive got this in the right place, was goin to put in mysteries, but its probably better suited here, i wrote this a long while back in a notebook, after gettin hooked on the join the dots style approach to old stories that graham hancocks books (and others of a similar tilt, like colin wilson...) opened up to me, so if youv got the time, heres some strange tales involving music and sound-

...getting to the money shots ;D hi random, cheers for adding to this, your story is a humdinger of a clinker, and definitely beyond what a rational mind can explain when you think of this vision now, you see your son? because, i suppose, at the time of the vision you wouldnt/didnt know him?...arrgh again i'm thinking of that time/mind slip thing i do hope tho, that the girlfriend is now the

...so thanks eyeofhorus33 for the honesty, and for adding to this thread, which i started out of curiosity, because, skeptic or no, i think most, if not everyone has had an out there experience that maybe stays out there your experience, being like the classic ghost story, reminds me of a book i read about time/mind slips, it kinda made a bit of sense, pretty interesting that you say the guy l

hello avocet and thanks for restartin this thread with your experience, a very strange thorn in the side of the rational, and a great chapter in the odd story of mind over matter, so cheers for sharing i like what mjt said above, that, something only needs to happen once for it to be real i do believe a mind boggling personal experience that leaves a doubt or a question mark to be a great l

<Quote: when all is said and done, neither camp, creationists or evolutionists, have the truth about cause, only opinion, based on what ever they believe or know, so far, But the balance between those two, as I have pointed out here and there during this discussion, is decidedly not 50/50. You live most of your daily life because of the discoveries and verifiable facts of all our ancestors a

hi susan when all is said and done, neither camp, creationists or evolutionists, have the truth about cause, only opinion, based on what ever they believe or know, so far, can i ask why the infinite regress question cannot work both ways in equal measure? you said inspiration was a feature of evolution, disregarding the invention of musical notes, what is the evolutionary advantage of music a

hi susan evidence? a smart ass could say something like-"with every singing bird at sunrise" you could say thats subjective, but, we can all see and hear and measure those things, it then becomes opinion about the cause- big bang or creation, but objective evidence no, you got me there, i havnt caught god in a bottle yet ;) who made god?, whats it called?, infinite regress?, what cam

hi all, tricky to put to words this, i'll try and clarify a bit consciousness?, awareness?, some might say spirit?, the spark?, when does it enter? (knowing it leaves or stops at death) or is it just an activation of the meat machine, confusing personality with spark? the curiosity was spiked from something i'd read about the pineal gland...

one more before the drink takes hold at what point does a person become a person? the quickening of the spirit, in the womb?, at what point does the "spirit" enter the growing body? or is awareness learned in the early years? is there a point when the growing organism activates? this is not a pro-life/pro-chioce debate by the way...

a question for any who wish to reply, but mainly for those who say they firmly believe in nothing supernatual, (maybe this is the wrong place to look for skeptics) have you ever had an experience you still cant find an explanation for? maybe a strange something in the sky, or a ghostly type encounter, or who knows, something still out there on the fringe, unexplained by science or rationalism?

a great deal is known, but not the big how and/or why life began, so would you agree that some sciences are looking for cause or meaning, like the search for the higgs"god particle"boson, now its something smaller than that being sought, which is fine, keep on searching, but to add that "there will not be a part of it that invokes or implies god" is just opinion, inspirati

hi susan, ok, proving a negative, a slurry pit of word madness, (nothing is a vacuum, yet a vacuum is something..., i cant do it, maybe read it all later if i get the time), i'm pretty sure some sciences are looking for cause or meaning, searching for smaller and smaller things, to account for this existence, i suppose, trying to prove, or figure out how life began, i think i'm ok to say, as

hello susan, has science proved that there are no gods?, am i wrong to think science still cant explain how life began? what other good points, besides inspiring great buildings, do you think religion has? as for freed money?, who prints money? or owns it?, that feels like a bigger scam.

hello eric, firstly, i agree that when some one says "its just an hallucination", without having taken any, is fine, but they will never know, the receiver brain idea is interesting, when it come to a s c, of all the different chemical adjustments i've made over the years, the psychedelics are literally, a different world, alcohol alters reality, as does any uppers and downers
