Look at the Sumerian, Ancient Egyptian (and even the Torah) this way: They are CREATION stories (mythologies). So, when they talk of a global flood, they're not talking rainstorms, their talking water that came AT THE TIME OF CREATION. JL

Eden is a symbolic place (not a literal, earth-based place). Adam is symbolic. Eve is symbolic. It's all symbolism. JL

I can't recall any writings until the "Old Testament" in which politics were introduced (i.e. male-centric, chosen people, etc.). So, because of that AND because of monotheism being an exclusive religion (rather than inclusive), we are stuck where we are. JL

99. Yep.
It's tough-going as it's 600+ pages of tons of detail about everything Egypt. It has a lot of flaws in it that are now gone in the author's future works (i.e misguided conclusions). Orthos have continually stated said author had preconceived conclusions going into his research. This is clearly not the case as expressed in the book. You can always email the author via: You might wish to ski

Let's assume Moses is a real person. 1) assumption: there is no god. What did the writers mean to convey when they talked about Moses face "emanating rays" after his meeting with god? 2) assumption: there IS a god. What did the writers mean to convey when they talked about Moses face "emanating rays" after his meeting with god. IOW, WHY is god associated with "light&

no opportunity for an off-the-cuff question (dissenter) that Sitchin couldn't handle. Very little (none) informal, spontaneous interaction. It's not so much that I thought his evidence wasn't there in that I found what I think is a far more plausible explanation for the "Nefilim". Hint (KJV has the Nefilim IN the earth, not ON the earth). JL

To clarify. The basis of ZS's theory (alien intervention) in and of itself is sound and plausible. However, the evidence ZS is using to support his case can be interpreted far differently (but with just as much profound impact). BTW, I went to a ZS seminar a few years back. I got a really unsettled feeling with how it was handled (as I came to the end of my belief in ZS's theories/interpretat

also shows IN. Let's think about this. IF the Nefilim are "gods" or "angels" or take your choice of any other PREexisting deity one has brought to the bible, why would a bible translator ever put IN in Genesis 6:4 when it makes NO sense to have gods, angels, or any other deity IN the earth. That is, unless the IN is pointing to the ancient Egyptian Underworld and the Nefili

When looking at these stories, step back and look at the big picture. IOW, as I mentioned, the Noah Genesis story about falling asleep in his tent is viewed by orthodox biblical scholars as having something to do with culture and nakedness. But, if we go to Enoch we see that Noah was obviously NOT human. Thus, we can't take the Genesis Noah tent story literally ANY MORE because new information
