I too have a question for Sir Laurence: I have read in one of your articles on the internet that "Shakespeare" was actually a collective work of several people. I feel the same and I would like to know if this is just your guess or you had access to some secret Rosicrucian archives?

<<As one can say about any other true ESOTERIC philosophy. Kabbalah is only another name for an ancient occult system that was based on the same principles everywhere. Alchemy, Hermeticism, Theosophy, Kabbalah in reality are one and the same.>> I agree, it must have been the innermost teachings of all evolved cultures. I like to think it was part of some even older (pre-flood) one wo

Thank you Laurence, that clarifies it for me. I expected you will say something like that because in the Genesis of the Grail Kings you wrote: "The unfortunate scenario which prevailed until fairly recently was that, while the Bible was promoted to the front line of our cultural consciousness, the more ancient writings of the Mesopotamians and Egyptians were lost. Hi Sir Laurence, I am confused about what was first: the OT or Kabbalah? Because if it was the latter and the OT was written with the kabbalistic code (as the kabbalists claim) then the biblical "history" and characters like Abraham are symbolic. So he can represent "the light of the magicians" but is it safe to say that he brought anything from Sumer, if he exists only as an

Hi Chico, I intuitively agree with some of L Gardner's points. I read that he has access to 'secret rosicrucian archives". I asked him about it on jaimi's thread but got no reply. Well, if they are secret they are secret and won't be available to little people like us any time soon.

<<My book takes three deep authors--Higgins, Massey and Kuhn -- and then, with the addition of my own theologizing, make them intelligible to literate searching folk today. Dear Mr Harpur, I read most of Kuhn's articles and loved them. He is very hard to read and distill the most important points so I'm looking forward to read your book. Unfortunately most people will always prefer the literal fairy tales. That is why religions were taught as exoteric ans esoteric. We already had countless discussions on this board and those who stick to their literal version of

Hi Kees, add to that: the Talisman and the book that Robert Lomas is writing reviving Wilmshurst's ideas and Graham's next book about origins of man --aren't we living in exciting times? Truths forgotten, repressed, censored, distorted for so long are re-surfacing once again and are reaching the masses! There is no turning back the tide this time! Maria

10. WOW!
I have ordered The Pagan Christ from amazon.ca and it arrived faster than I thought (3 days to LA). I have read Kuhn and Massey before so I expected to read more or less what I already know. However I love Kuhn so much I thought I need to give it a try, especially after chatting with Tom who proved to be a charming and brilliant man. But I have to say that the Pagan Christ far exceeds my expect

Hi guys: I just checked--you can get it on amazon.com: the list price is $70 but you can buy it for $47 I ordered one too, it’s exciting that it’s written by Hornung, I’ve read some of his books and his very insightful analysis is brilliant although not very easy – perfect target for Tom Harpur’s illuminating eye! Just ordered a copy of Tesla's Colorado notes. I am so excited! Can't wait to read about the clouds and the unfortunate explosion! I'll keep it on my bedside table so I can be in a presence of greatness while I sleep--maybe I'll absorb something through osmosis :-)

<<'The innocent perception of a child', is one of the things WLW believes to be part of the lost secrets of a Freemason, and I do tend to agree with him.>> Robert, the ancient Egyptians were very advanced in their “religion” that was actually science, art and philosophy, all in one. The depth of it we can’t even grasp anymore. And yet to our ”sophisticated” modern mind they appear

Hi Robert, Tesla was a genius and true genius requires that one is innocent like a child (unless you become like children you won’t enter the Kingdom of Heaven) Of course in our day and age cunning and theft are the most admired qualities without which one can’t become a rich powerful businessman—the greatest goal to aspire in this (hopefully) “end of times”. To concentrate on his “waco” image

Thank you SO much Robert! I had no idea that Wilmshurst was born on June 22—this is my birthday too! Your post is a birthday present for both of us then, as I imagine that he looks down from above on your efforts with gratitude. Interesting how he avoided the WWII by just over one month! I guess he didn’t need that experience. Yes his writing (and I know only the Meaning of Masonry) is diffi

<The most important figure in the revival of the inner truths of Freemasonry is, in my opinion, W L Wilmshurst. Wilmshurst was a solicitor in Hudderfield who died in 1939. He wrote many texts on Freemasonry, the most famous being The Meaning of Masonry, which is still in print. He created a library, a research lodge and wrote many private Masonic papers. He was particually interested in preser

Wonderful photos Hylke, and very interesting insightful comments! Thank you. You may find it of interest to read some of W.L. Wilmshurst writings--he was a freemason and wrote about Masonic symbolism. Or see Robert Lomas thread on the mysteries board. All you have to do is to add a few car chases and some mysterious action and you have a better book than Da Vinci Code! :) Maria

I haven't finished the Talisman yet, I enjoy it very much but like fisherman I have one objection so far: that RB and GH almost make me believe that those followers of the ancient tradition must necessarily be GOOD guys and their utopia an important leap forward in human evolution. Quite the opposite is transparant so far: for example communism (blamed on "freemasonry") -- produced ON

Thank you so much for the info about Wilmshurst! I was wondering about this strange title. I'll try to get Kirk MacNulty's books as well. Although I don't know if I want a "different view", I just love Wilmshurst's take on it :) Maria

Hi Martin, Thanks- so it looks like no one is serving any secrets on a silver platter, but every member has to research for himself? That was my surprise when I read the Hiram Key, but I thought it was because the authors were lower degrees. I have Morals and Dogma (original edition by House of The Temple in Washington) bought at the used books store, but somehow never took the time to read it.

<<Given the changes to some degrees, but along with those that are the same, the degrees are not really intensely Judaic, infact the 18th would be considered overtly Christian, while the 29th has an Islamic slant to the play. The upper degrees are no longer Templar in theme (I don't know about the SJ), and it is not needed to be, as it were, as the top body of the York rite, the Commandery

<<<Maria, I don't think you've accurately recalled the story. It was the Serpent who told Eve that if she were to eat the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil then she would surely become like God. It wasn't God who said it. The Serpent also told Eve that God was a liar because God told Eve that if she was to eat from the fruit, she would die. The Serpent said she would not

29. P.S.
The true freemasonry claims to have its roots in Egypt. Egypt too was obsessed with equilibrium and feared chaos more than anything else. But they had no human sacrifices, they waged wars only when provoked and in self-defense, and would abhor the word “revolution” or perhaps even “change”. So how did they manage their equilibrium through so many thousands of years? What was their secret? Have th
