While doing some research on a couple of things, I came across a nice little bit of info concerning our fight or flight response. It seems that a bundle of nerves in our neck, called the Stellate Ganglion, have a great influence on this response, and quite possibly neck injuries may be responsible upon our normal reactions and adjust how we actually respond in certain situations. I guess there

Interesting work you have there, Waqas...The Polymath, Unlocking The Power of Human Versatility. And your article has some great points, especially “...to be a polymath is to be true to our primordial selves...” Child-like in some ways due to our curiosity and wide-eyed wonder at what life can offer as puzzles to be played with in all manner of ways. Of course, how our brain is formed goes on

He hee. Hey Tom. Daddy long-legs hey...very small fangs for the likes of people...very fragile too...more than likely aren't long enough to pierce the skin. I guess that's what some attacks by folk are, hey? Not enough oomph in them...just a little expression of their inner turmoil needing projection somewhere other than themselves. Cheers mate

Yeah, just a bit of fun to see what kind of inspiration I'm able to give myself that kinda sounds better than other kinds I've done. Doing the difficult things can be quite tricky compared to doing the easy or general things...after all, some of the difficult things can be quite the adventure in getting them off the ground, can't they... Well, it kinda read good enough. Now then...what's th

Hi there, and welcome to some pondering on flowing with a stream of consciousness as the surroundings offer up something that catches the attention. Yes, this is possibly going to be a waste of your time and leave you unsatisfied; or you have a hint of hope for something to spark you into positively reacting in some way...reacting with some kind of skill you have that needs to be expressed...need

What is also amazing is that, if we were not here, we would not know it haha And that really complicates what folk like to express as 'soul mate'...you ever get the feeling you were a little too early or a little too late in existence to actually connect with a soul mate? Hmm...I don't know about that because I kinda think that there would have to be quite a few potential soul mates because it

Ah, perchance to dream while being awake is a grand thing indeed...a perpetual dream tied up in our moment of existence within Existence itself, and just a hint of separation defines individuality amidst the composite of it all. Who was it that said the lens of perception is fraught with distortion? I forget...but it seems that lens is always and ever the now-moment and the weather can certain

I don't think the varying hour-length would apply, as there are too many complications with it for 'stellar-rotation' and what the decans do: every temple and priest would be up in arms about what they know; and every labourer would want shorter hours for the same pay as longer hours. If you go for varying hour-length, then you have to include latitudes for the same hour-length no matter what

Hmm...I guess that we all see this whole in its own way because there is only ever our self and everything else firstly, the individual having identity, certainly basing that identity on what the individual can and cannot do, and defining the niche it inhabits. The individual one-of-a-like that is part of its kind, part of a kind, part of many kinds that layer together into the whole. It sure

Cheers Tom, but don't forget that it is just a consideration based upon how I see the world through the many eyes of folk who can give over the science...and I guess I just put things together in a particular way. Add in what religions and philosophy define and describe, and a certain type of thinking on why we need some kind of settlement with our mortality, and I get to wonder at what it is tha

Hmm...Aboriginal tales of people turning into swans and doing different things which cements swans in the landscape as another creature amid so many...which then has folk using feathers to disguise themselves as swans in order to mimic ages-old tales of how swans came to be, and what they represent according to the people who have the stories in the first place. Some tales have it that black s

The least we can do is understand we create...time can create anything, so it and all things are creating the future at every given moment and leaving their remnants in time itself, somewhat captured in material form that is constantly changing as time progresses. Hmm...a photograph can capture a moment just as it was, but even the atoms of the inks creating the image are excited in being able

Surfing without waves ;) The tricky bit about redesigning something like this is the energy needed to power the electric motor. Several years back, I came across a little flashlight-of-a-sort that had no battery to power it...the bottom of it was open and inside are little metal wafers that utilize water to power it...you just place the thing upright in shallow water and electricity is produc

Hey there PB One example?...not related to just a little mention of it as being synchronistically aligned to what is being discussed here?... ...sheesh...that would take the topic way left of where it is trying to go, which is 'Why do we offer potentials which stray from easy facts?' But maybe you could look up the Pauli Effect and wonder why it is that extreme scrutiny of telepathy and te

I’ll try my best at understanding ‘totems’ as those who use them do. And please correct me if it is worth you doing so. The ‘law-keepers’ of any tribe of folk are responsible for keeping track of certain kinds of information that the tribe is built upon, where several folk know certain facts unto themselves and pieces of each other’s; and there is always an initiate or few to each who is also

I'm going off-schedule for a while to see what it does for me...nix on the smokes and beers...the only things that will disappear from my life. I'm gonna save heaps!...might take up a different hobby...you ever seen a fliteboard? Bloody thing costs about 13k, and I reckon I could make one for about 1.3.

I guess we are all describing the same things but using various observations of those things because of how we experience them...and what they are in the first place. I've said often enough that I thank everyone and -thing I have come across because it all makes me learn about me and all what is not me...same with you. It's what we actually do with so much that that separates folk from each other

There are two results to anything...experience; curiosity. The moment between those is everything. Yeah, it’s a cheeky observation because it takes all Existence and its inhabitants as being constantly in the middle of time, constantly creating time, and exploring potentials of where time can take it all to. Can it be accepted that the emergence of Existence into our Universe, thereby cr

Yes, too easy...altered states of consciousness, where props aid in a transmigration of perception for either participant or observer in enhancing the function of a performance. Wearing feathers mimics the swan in some way, so too any part of any creature where superstition is meant to translate the supernatural into the natural, via a media. It is, after all, a communication, between participant

Hey there Ron, Good to read you again, and help me out here, will you? A quote from Wiki : In the view of Bohm and Hiley, "things, such as particles, objects, and indeed subjects" exist as "semi-autonomous quasi-local features" of an underlying activity. Such features can be considered to be independent only up to a certain level of approximation in which certain crit

Hi Andrew I had a look at this and some connecting things, and found this quote from an interview ( here : “They wasted nothing,” says Prof. Ran Barkai of Tel Aviv University, one of the explorers of Qesem Cave. When elephants were eaten (and they were), their bones would be turned into non-utile tools, indicating a compulsion to use all parts of the animal. Bird flesh would be consumed, t

Nice signature, Tom. But hmm...traveling at the speed of light and the Universe is at a standstill? Ha. By all reasonable accounts, the Universe is some 14 billion years old, give or take, and yet the Universe is some 93 billion light years in diameter, or 46.5 by radius on the horizontal...not sure what the vertical is. We estimate the size based upon light and other things...which means w

Humanity only wishes it could know who and what it really is...existence as only each of us can discern. Ron wrote that in his original post and while I edited it, it does state something that we all try to discern about our individuality...not that we are something special but that we can actually question what we are and what we are not. All kinds of creatures can question some things abo

Hmm...some interesting points there Andrew. One you might have limited yourself with is our ancestors understanding cycles, both terrestrial in regards to our orbit about the sun, and the greater to do with Precession. Animals understand the seasons, and our evolution certainly took the basics to greater understandings, especially when it comes to migrating to areas because we followed creatur

Hello Andrew Seems like an interesting book you and Greg have put together, and like such books, you probably have a whole lot of information that you couldn’t include because it just wouldn’t be palatable by the kind of folk you hope to reach with your observations and hypotheses. It isn't about a river per se...just about being anywhere where the surroundings - everything that isn't you - flow over you while you just take it in instead of projecting yourself upon those surroundings. Sure, it might take some time before you can let your thoughts wander in what is around you, without wondering what is around you. All those thoughts you have about what is around you - the

You might like a 'newsdesk' item about Aboriginal healers and one man's account of his little journey. One part of his article talks about settling into a river and how the proceedings come after his mind has been subtly manipulated by a healer talking about all kinds of things, and performing a few rituals. He doesn't know he has been set up for a nice experience. He quotes someone: “We cann
