Ray, only people have experiences. The history is interesting but not relative. It only takes one atheist to throw a whole discussion board up for grabs. That’s THE experience! Happy Easter!

“Why do you think that the Romans "borrowed" the Greek pantheon and gave the gods different names? ” Hi Tom. I suggest that the answer can be found in the human ego and the desire to have things our way. I call this “being arbitrary.” We want things our way but we can’t just jump out of our skins, we can only evolve. Happy Easter, Happy Spring!

“Why does that matter? ” Why did you post that stat in the first place? “Do you think there is a risk of toxicity?” What does toxicity have to do with global warming theory? “Why expect a static Earth?” Who argues for a static Earth? You are leading the race to state the most red herrings with Race a close second.

“How many other faiths past and present believe this? ” Mark, the names change but the basic god concepts are always with us in some person. People change, they evolve but the concepts are pretty long-lived. IMO.

That was very interesting Deep. The setting of the Mahabharata could be roughly 1,000 years earlier that we thought. Amazing, thanks. Happy Holi!

Well said Mark. This is the Inner Space board, not the Science or GV boards. The criteria of meaning here can only be what people think in their inner spaces methinks. Happy Easter, Happy Spring to all!

“So Mueller though prosecuting would be a waste of time. He’s a pathologically procedural as well as a frugal man.” Good point. Mueller had to depose Roger Stone. He probably quickly deduced that trying crazy people could damage the justice system. The future rests on the 2020 elections much more than on indicting this or that fellow. Looks like the Mittster might think of getting involved

“Why would campaign finance law be different?” Paul, because the perps are politicians and politicians control and fund the bureaucracies. In a democratic system, the pols have to be protected. I am from a Chicago and we go after politicians but it has to be major wrongdoing. In Ill, we have 2 major politicians who run law firms helping their clients lower their taxes. How does that work!

I didn’t suggest damage just settling of a pyramid shaped structure. It just seemed interesting to think about Sam.

Well if the pyramids were hollow, they just would have collapsed. Yeah the whole thing is supported by stone but exact? Things settle and the edges get support from the two side abutting themselves. Maybe Jon. When the masons were laying the stones originally, wouldn’t it have been difficult to keep reminding them to put in that crease and keep it lined up?

The Mueller Report is available here: Here is an important statement on the terms of art the Mueller team used in making conclusions based on the facts they recovered in their investigations: “We understood coordination to require an agreement - tacit or express- between the Trump campaign and the Russian Government on election interference. That requires more than the two parties taking

I did read that op Ray. I was wondering whether you chose that one piece on the Russians because the print and format were so tiny, we seniors would have a very hard time reading it. I am a pretty objective person Ray. I call things like I see them.

Individuals believe or do not believe in god or god’s. Histories of the lives of believers or atheists are stories, or in other words, myths.

Rich stated, “ The language is wonky / garbled. ” I suggest that the the language being “wonky/garbled” was Plato informing the reasonable reader that the numbers were not to be taken seriously. What was to be taken seriously was Plato’s moral explanation for a state going bad. Atlantis was but a warning to Athenians. But it is a great story nevertheless for being about morality.

Paul stated, “ And now the latest "great empire" has begun to see its own corruption and weakness. Foreign Policy magazine is a core organ of "The Establishment". All those "Deep State" people that the populists are so afraid of read it or know someone who does. When an article like this appears in such a forum, "The Establishment" has begun to fear for its
