Hi Silverthorne, You made me very happy by posting this thread. As you pointed out, it has been some time since someone discussed my original topic... :) And I can certainly relate to your feelings about not feeling at home. All the best to you, Val

Yes Stephanie, there has been too much aggressiveness here. I am just saying that David is not the only one whose attitude towards others can be interpreted as hostile. The whole conversation is getting into a point where everyone is offending everyone who doesn't see things eye to eye. In a situation like this I don't think one should take opinions personally. They are not and cannot be personal

Hi Stephanie, With all due respect, David isn't the only one here who has been a bit offensive to others. He has had his share, too. His strong opinions have obviously caused some bad blood among the board. I surely did not want this topic to turn into a war scene. I wish everyone would cool down a bit and consider that everyone here is pursuing the right things. Val

Hi Dave, Once again I agree. I have noticed that the more scientifically I have been forced to think in my profession, the further I feel I slip from my soul. The more I know about the scientific nature of things, the less I feel I know about their true identity and meaning. The experience I described is one of the things that have had a profound effect on my life, and I would be very disillusio

Hi there, I cannot recall my exact thoughts, but I remember that I had just spent a long time looking at the list of the kings, and was walking really slowly in the middle of the chamber. At the moment I was just soaking in the atmosphere of the place, silently. I do remember feeling quite calm and at peace with the surroundings. The only thing that I remember that you might find interesting is

Hello, Thanks for your input. As a member of the medical profession I have considered this option from every angle and consulted people who are experts in neurology, and I have been reassured that whatever I experienced was not an epileptic seizure. I do not exclude the possibility that it was a product of my own subconscious, but for sure there was no medical aspect to it. I was a bit worried a

7. Abydos
Hi, I was wondering for a long time whether to share this story or not. Find it a bit too weird, myself. About ten years ago I was visiting the temple of Abydos in Egypt by myself. I was in one of the chambers in the back when I felt that the air suddenly got cooler. The next second I was hit by a really strong air current from above, and was thrown down on the floor by the force of it. There

Hi, The experience you describe sounds very familiar to me. I do not know whether these feelings are some kind of a trick the mind plays -like a disturbance in the brain waves- or if there really is something more significant going on. What puzzles me the most is why only some individuals have this kind of experiences. I would like to think it has something to do with the developmental stage of

I would like to ask you all about something I have been wondering about. It seems that everybody here and some other people I've met have a feeling of maybe belonging somewhere else, in a time and place that feels like home. Am I wrong? I can only speak for myself, but at least I have always felt (even before I found about these theories we are discussing about) a certain kind of connection to Eg

Hi Susie, I already thanked everybody else for their advice but wanted to thank you, too. It seems like you have recently been in the same kind of a situation that I am facing now, and it helps me enormously to hear that someone else has overcome similar things and sounds so well now. I especially appreciate your advice on making any decision rather than no decision at all. That is a piece of ad

Hi there, I cannot say I haved a fixed opinion about your suggestion. If one thinks rationally, it could be considered in a way merciful to kill the ones that may b suffering. But if I am being totally honest with you, I cannot see a justified reason for humans to use this kind of power over the rest of the beings on this planet. I mean, knowing professionally how hard it can sometimes be to dis

Hi all, You cannot imagine how much better I feel after reading your answers. Who could have imagined that a group of virtual (literally) strangers could be just what one could need. A million thanks for your insight and advice. They all seem to be worth following. Cannot thank you enough. :) Love, Val

Hi all, Have a new question for you. At the moment I am facing some serious issues in my life and have to admit that from time to time I feel my strenght is lost. So I'd like to ask your advice/opinions. Where do you find your inner strenght when things go wrong or you have to make big decisions? Is it in your personal beliefs or something more substantial, down to earth? Best, Val

Hi again, Having been involved in the food production business and at the moment not being a vegetarian, I do not put the blame on either side alone. The main problem is that the prize of meat and other animal based products has sunken so low, that the producers are forced to farm the animals in worsening conditions. And I would pretty much guarantee that you and anyone else for that matter woul

Hi all, I am replying to Lobo's post but this is for everyone in this conversation. It seems that the topic has changed a bit from the thing I asked. I don't think the main issue is who eats who, that is just how this world works, whether you like it or not. The thing we should be concerned about is how the beings which we use for nourishment are treated while alive. That is what I think is rele

Hi Susie, Nice to hear that someone shares the same thoughts. As for your animal friends who visit you after passing away, I do firmly believe in that. I am a vet and I hear over and over how the owners claim they still feel their cat or dog after their death. I always feel comforted when I hear that. All the best for both you and your cats, Val

Once again, have to agree. I am myself in a profession in which I have to help and feel empathy on a daily basis, and if I do not feel good from the inside to the outside, I am not able to do that efficiently. The thing I would like to ask everyone: It is common to judge people who are born with good looks that their appearance is not a positive attribute since they don't have anything to do wit

I just have to smile...David, your reply surprised the hell out of me, too, but in a way positively. You never cease to amaze! And I do have to say that I agree with your point in some ways. Having cosmetic surgery done doesn't hurt anyone except for possibly yourself. But don't you think there is the risk of getting caught up in wrong things? The more you focus on the external (ie. the way you l

Hi Claude, I do not know if you read my post considering Elisabeth Haich's book Initiation, but I think you should definitely read that book if you still haven't. It sounds as if you and your son have a similar kind of connection with each other that EH describes in it. All the best for both of you, Val

Hi Claude, I am replying to your message on the Mysteries board. Poetry, you say? I am happy if you think so. :) Even happier I am about the fact that someone else shares my feelings. I am interested, do you have some theory about why you are drawn to these exact places? And further down that road, I suppose you have some kind of connection to the menhirs, since you feel so strongly about south

I'd like to clarify my thoughts on this issue a bit. That these life forms cause suffering is in itself a sign of a lesser developmental stage, it is in their very nature to induce suffering and there is no other way to them. But when you reach a stage where you have a freedom of choice in your actions and you are able to emphatize with the suffering of other beings, you should aim towards a way

Thank You, David. Although I am a newcomer here, I can already tell that you always see a bit deeper. It seems that even in a board like this, where everybody should be open to other thoughts, people become very easily argumentative. You seem to be above that. All the best.

Hi Jaq, Couldn't agree more with you on your motto. :) And I share your view that empathy and respect of life is something that grows as you progress. You cannot find your higher spirituality and ignore suffering at the same time. A truly enlightened individual would find all beings as important. All the best, V.

Hi Anselm, Judging by your reply, I didn't make my point clear enough. I am not saying that all animal products should be banned (well, in an ideal world that would be the case), but the way in which they are produced should be changed. Because of my profession I have had the opportunity to follow animal production all the way from farms to the slaughterhouse and have seen all the problems invo

Would like to hear your opinions about the following: If one believes that the soul must develop through many kinds of existences and is reborn in a physical form that matches the stage of its development, then it is fair to assume that the soul inhabits all kinds of beings on its journey. In that sense, I believe that depriving beings from their normal way of life (as is commonly done in the m

Hi everyone, Was reading through Heavens Mirror once more, and something got me thinking. In the Egyptian Book of the Dead there is written in the words of an initiate: "I am the Bennu bird, and upon earth shall come forth again". The general idea has been that the Bennu bird, as the phoenix, represents the soul in its initiated form, its "final form". But doesn't this passa

Hello David, Happy for you if you have had this kind of an experience. Could you tell me something about this Shabd path, or could you give some pointers to find information? That is a new area for me, and would be very interested to know more. V.
