The phone rang at the motor pool and an authoritative voice demanded to know how many vehicles were operational. "Well," replied Paul, "we've got twelve trucks, ten utilities, three staff cars, oh, and that Bentley the fat-arsed colonel swanks around in." There was a stony silence for a second or two. ''Do you know whom you are speaking to?'' ''No,'' replied Paul ''It is

Stephen Your reply is really interesting 231 cubic inches 7 Scottish to 10 US. 330 ÷ 10 X 7 = 231 Look at that 10 ÷ 7 = 1.42857143 now plus 30 = 31.42857143 22 / 7 = 3.142857143 . 231 cubic inches = 4 US quarts Very interesting have a good Christmas. Jim

Stephen and all. David nice to see you back. Mi 2,200,000. Years ago I worked a sum on volume in Indus feet 13.2 inches. The base of the pyramid 687 Indus feet 755.7 Imperial and for the height 437 Indus 480.7 imperial these numbers not exact I know but I was not using a calculator I was sitting on a bus wasting time. Anyway Volume with 687 and 437 = 68,750,131 cubic Indus/Saxon feet.

'Take the pill' Exactly right just because a govt health service messes up a couple of doses of vaccine and accidentally kills two children with people watching. Then the govt halts vaxination for infants for 8 months and Bingo the Vax rate drops. Well that is not the govt fault is it it's the parents. Just accept the fact that your govt will do you no harm. And if they do they will admit

'what has to be done' In Samoa they have closed all business stoped people moving about arrested anti vaxxers. Made it compulsory to be vaxinated. As a medico from Australia said 'it has spread so quickly' this will be studied closely it's a microcosem of what could ocure in a larger scale. In Tonga it began with 1 footballer getting off a plane then the entire team came down with measle

Coffer contents 31.25 cubic Saxon feet a Saxon foot 13.2 inches. Converting 31.25 to imperial = 41.59375 cubic imperial feet = volume of inside of coffer. Very nearly 2.5 tons Petrie's average size block. If the GP contains 2,200,000 average size blocks then the volume of the coffer 41.59375 cubic feet X 2,200,000 = 91,506,250 cubic feet the volume of the Great pyramid. In this calcu

Steven I seem to remember your interest in corn measure. According to Piazzi Smyth Greaves measures the coffer though not as exact as Petrie. Smyth gives the Gallon as 277.274 cubic inches then goes on to suggest a corn measure ref the volume of the inside of the coffer. It occurred to me that a gallon 277.274 times a sacred number 259.2 = 71869 cubic inches well Petrie makes the content

The importance of vaccination. Samoa has a population of two hundred thousand but over the last few years there has been an anti vaccinate push. Bad drugs from India was the excuse. At the beginning of October a couple of people died from the measles as the vaccination rate got down to thirty percent. As of today 53 mainly children have died and three thousand infected. You have picked two interesting numbers 437.5 and 437.4. 437.5 Indus feet is the height pyramid. 437.5 = 481.25 imperial. 437.5 X 16 digits = 7000 digits 7000 / 25 = 280 royal cubits 20.625 ins Jim

Hi Stephen glad your back. '1944 lines of this rule .972 of the ft. Usually stated as 11.664ins' I have come to the belief that many ancient measures are linked. The great Solon left Greece on condition his reforms bringing the weights and measures of Greece into sync with other powers. I recognise your numbers as measures found in the third pyramid and the Great. They are in Indus Valle

Petrie gives a plan. 166. The great amount of labour involved in quarrying and transporting such a mass of masonry as even the casing, has always been a cause of astonishment. But an expression in the traditions reported by Herodotus,5 and a consideration of the internal economy of the country in the present day, seem to explain it. In describing the transport of the stones, Herodotus express

This joke appears to have its origin somewhere in the southern hemisphere. Strange people live down here. An elderly gentleman goes for a check-up. After his exam the doctor said to the to the old fella, "You appear to be in good health. Do you have any medical concerns you would like to ask me about?" "In fact, I do," said the old man. "After I have sex I am

You began that thread in 2001, now that was a while ago. I began writing in 1997 but did not discover the implication of longitude until well after 2001. The interesting thing for me was it was at the latitude of Giza that each degree of longitude = 60 miles and the circumference of the earth at that latitude = 21600 miles. The diameter of the earth then = 21600 / 22/7 = 6872.7272... miles

The acre 660 X 66 feet = 43560 square feet a combination of the numbers 3456. In Saxon/Indus measure 13.2 inches an acre 600 X 60 = 36000 square feet. Two ways to measure an acre. The Great pyramid base 687 Indus/Saxon feet and 687 being the same number as days for a year if the planet Mars. To find the area if the base of the Great pyramid in acres. 1. 687 X 687 = 471969 then d

If you take 2062.5 and multiply by Finonnacis value for pi 3.14181817.. = 6480 They used slightly different numbers for pi to reach even numbers. For example 2062.5 / 22/7 = 65.625 an even number 65.625 X 22/7 = 787.5 the diameter of Earth in miles 7875.

You Know there is nothing wrong with measuring doorways personally I like the idea. Flinders Petrie measured doorways and old crosses in church yards, castles and other ancient buildings. Maybe you can help. I have visited Z. A. Palenque once and it was fabulous. I wanted to see 'Packals Crypt' and finally got a permit from the Government office at the Museum near the site. Got in at 4.2

Dr T Quote ' Eratosthenes calculated the circumference of the earth to be 252,000 stades' Well no that is not quite correct but yes it was settled at 252,000 stades however originally Eratosthenes gave 250,000 stades See Enc Brit p.127 1963 edition. So you are playing with the number 7 here as 252,000 / 360 = 700 stades per degree. So it was changed to 252 but if we look at his original

An old geezer became very bored in retirement and decided to open a medical clinic. He put up a sign outside that said: “Dr. Geezer’s Clinic. Get your treatment for $500, if not cured, get back$1000.” Doctor “Young,” who was positive that this old geezer didn’t know beans about medicine, thought this would be great opportunity to get $1000. So he went to Dr. Geezer’s clinic. This is
