There is far more to nature than we think we understand. Richards Dawkins wrote a best seller called 'The Selfish Gene'. He was forced to revise this book in 1989 because of other Biologists reactions and Right wing groups (he named US economists in particular). It was so bad he added 2 chapters and made a video with the BBC Horizon series to explain, people had not understood his book properly.

I am not sure that fungi are the 'key' to 'understanding' Consciousness, I am not so sure we ever will, we deal in 'Things', Consciousness is 'No Thing', it is the foundation of everything. Being conscious doesn't require understanding it is an empirical experience. As in John 1:1 “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upo

Thanks for the Topic Ray. Perhaps we need to change our ideas/concepts of what Consciousness is, Oh! but then we don't know what consciousness is, Do We! There are more than just Fungi, communicating in the Natural world. For those who might like to look into more about Plant communication/interaction. So they didn't 'COMPLETLY' deregulate, lol. As to the banks in the US well done Obama, it didn't happen in the UK. David Cameron didn't enforce the repayment on the basis that if he did, “valuable bankers would move abroad”. Our politicians care only about money and how they can get more of it. “The operating principles of the big banks is a cesspool of greed, ethics and criminal intent and t

Well Eddie, did you forget Reagan and Thatcher deregulated our economies a long time a go. But tell me Eddie don't you think its time the banks paid back the money we gave them back in 2008 and have carried on giving to them in Quantitative Easing? Should multi nationals like Amazon pay the same tax as local businesses in which ever country they are trading in? Why did you start separating

As a so called democracy, British voters have seen fit to maintain and regularly nourish a predatory ruling class, a parasitical monarchy, an ossified aristocracy that owns the place, a relic pantomime known as the 'House of Lords', a clearly divisive education system, rampant tax evasion coupled with grinding poverty and unemployment, a manipulating offshore elite which has provided our current

I was heavy influenced by Indian mysticism I am glad to say. I read Auto Biography of a Yogi many many years ago, It is a seriously profound book, I particularly liked chapter 14, amazing stuff, some would say outrageous, yet I had similar experiences with my teacher, the Initiation of Light, wonderful, amazing. The feeling of peace lasted for days and the Light came again a couple of times when

Hi Michael I wonder whether you have come across this short audio clip from Yogananda it is a talk about a visit to a cinema and the movie projector room. He was a very fascinating character and teacher. His book the Autobiography of a yogi was essential reading for many hippies way back in the 70s. I thought you might find it it interesting is called "Beholding the One in all". malc

There are so many books about Socrates not many cover his spiritual side and this imo means he is not properly understood, plus incorrect translation of ancient Greek, in recent years a couple Greek words have had their meaning discussed and altered slightly. This topic is in the Pierre Grimes paper I posted a link to in my previous post. Anyway on the 'nothing something' theme Omar Kayyam spra

QuoteI must contend that the pre-Socratic philosophers were more realists of the invisible and incomprehensible facts of Reality. Socrates committed suicide; that should tell you something of his character. Tom I have to come to the defence of Socrates here. Socrates was sentenced to 'Death' by a court in Athens for 'Perverting the youth of Athens', he did not just commit suicide, In fact in th

Every one knows the bible quote 'God is Light and in him is no darkness at all' (1 John KJV) and we have the beautiful Bhagavad Gita where the after of 10 chapters of verbal teaching, Arjun says to Krishna, “I still don't understand” and so Krishna reveals his true form LIGHT to Arjun and then he understands! But lets not get bogged down in a religious conundrum. Lets have a look at an eastern

As the fires burn and the temperature climbs Australians fear the worst is yet to come. Since April this year the 24 fire and emergency Chiefs had been trying to have a meeting with the Australian prime minister, Scott Morrison, because they “knew that a bush fire crisis was coming”. The Australian governments response was “Today is not the day to talk about climate change.” where have we heard

Hi Tom glad you liked the vid. Todd is brilliant but can sometimes be a bit too experimental and so I don't have all his albums. I hope it doesn't seem I am getting at you by being critical of some of your posts, you are a true seeker, but there is a simplicity in all of us, a core that is 'Life itself' we can enjoin with it through the Pranayama, breathing, focusing on the life force constantl

So you read an ancient text translated through possibly 3/4 languages and got confused, sounds about right, especially the old testament. There are 300 versions (groups/sects) of the bible all seem to read it in a different way, this is because they have no really deep experience to base their judgement on. Book reading has helped the communication of material/physical knowledge of the world to g

You should look up 'Reiki' healing Tom. I have experienced it and was offered training but I have a different path in my life. There was a feeling of heat from the hands of the practitioners, it felt good and helped my aches and pains a bit. We must always remember the placebo effect though when looking at health care we tend to react well to attention and care anyway. Here a link. Reiki
