Hi Tom and all, In "The Pagan Christ" you discuss the issue of incarnation frequently. To me the only real subject to build a religion around must indeed be the mystery of spirit incarnating in the material world, the binding of the opposites. What struck me was that, as far as I remember, only on one occasion the issue of re-incarnation was mentioned in the book. In chapter 10

Hi Tom and all, Thanks for the reply. In addition I would like to ask the following. Can we say that star based religions developed independent of each other around the world? (AE, Maya and so on) And, can we say that the Ancient Egyptian version of it was to become template for Islam, Judaism and Christianity only? You see, if one would categorise religions into families, we see that Islam,

Dear mr Tom Harpur, Before I go into the actual Pagan Christ book, I would like to ask the following. I know you have a vast knowledge of Christianity which enabled you to see possible relations with the star based religion of the Ancient Egyptians (AE). My question is, does Christianity differ in this “possible relation towards the star based AE religion” with for instance Islam? In other

Dear mr Tom Harpur, I would like to welcome you on behalf of the moderation team of GHMB and am personally looking forward to ask as many questions as I can. As you may have noticed we have a wide variety of posters on the forums. In the recent past we have had some very interesting discussions between those with a literal and those with an allegorical interpretation of the bible. No doubt

Hi Tom and all, Indeed, it's a very good document. A bit difficult to read for me as non native English, but in the end I got there. It is good because it gives a splendid insight into the formal Christian stand on New Age. What I find amazing though, is the fact that the work of Massey, Kuhn and others on the origin of Christianity are not mentioned at all. Thomas Kuhn is mentioned just once

Hi Brian and all, Focus of The Pagan Christ is that the roots of the Christian faith all eventually can be traced back to ancient Egypt and its star-based or astronomical religion. This mechanism is present in other contemporary religions as well. So, yes, your question is valid and within topic. Regards, Kees

Hi Tom and all, Welcome back, I hope we can lure some of our literalists over to this thread. I have noticed not many on this website have yet read your amazing book. This does hinder a discussion but maybe we can overcome this by using a top down approach in more generic terms. I have been thinking about the context of your book "The Pagan Christ". In this we have several is

Hi Steve and all, My first reaction to your post was one of disgust. I can’t handle very well the things people are prepared to inflict on each other as so horribly described in your post. Maybe it’s me getting older what is the driving force behind my initial reaction, who knows. Having said that, I do am looking forward very much to the discussion with Michael White. No doubt we will have som

Hi Robert, You mean that group related to the equinox 2000 project? This journey will symbolically represent the departure of the Hermetic Tradition for Egypt, its subsequent spread aro

Dear mr. Cremo, I have been reading your posts with much interest and I would like to thank you for your presence on these boards. About your devolution theory. Although I have not read your book, I suspect to have held somewhat similar ideas for a long time myself, but I wonder what your ideas are on a simultaneous bottom up/top down arrangement in these matters. In this, the bottom up system
