Does anyone have the origin of the word annunaki? I think it is Sumerian but I can't find it in their library nor the Assyrian library (digital databases).

Excellent image Brett. Question: I was told on a different forum that I couldn't post astrophotography pics - links only. Would this refer to the photographer, site or in general? Disconnection event yesterday. Might this have brightened the comet? Hope so :D

Beautiful Images. I noticed last week in Spaceweather's comet gallery someone was suggesting this comet may have satellites orbiting Catalina. Wonder if that explains the structures noted by Fritz Hemmerich in his observations?

The "unfinished" stele that bears no writing could be finished work. Suggesting the creators intended it as a demonstration on "how to quarry" large blocks. A magnificent demonstration I might add.

Here you go Carol and anyone else interested. JP Bibring states (in June 2015) that there is no surface ice anywhere to be found on the comet, even in the cracks where they've looked deep (I'm assuming that's with the OSIRIS images that they aren't showing us). He also says that the comet models that have been written about for decades, which he says he had done many times, are wrong and that the

The question of interstellar oxygen remains unanswered. How many of the detected gases were made by Philae and how many from the tail side of the coma by Rosetta? It is my understanding that the gases have been detected 10 and 100km off the nucleus.

At some point maybe they'll start looking at alt hypothesis in lieu of the never-ending surprises. The standard Solar System formation models are pretty well shot of late. “We weren’t really expecting to detect O2 at the comet – and in such high abundance – because it is so chemically reactive, so it was quite a surprise,” says Kathrin Altwegg of the University of Bern, and principal investig

I could be wrong, but I believe the "side" of the neck is the cliff and the angle of the image can definitely be misleading. Edit: After reviewing the comet regions model/map, the area in question is a quarter revolution away from the "cliffs" I was thinking of. In this image it appears that the jet is emanating from a mountainous rocky region (possibly sharp edges) of Anuk

They suspect (assume) that they will find cryo-volcanoes and steam-geyers on Pluto, but so far nada. They seem to be rather surprised and puzzled about Pluto with no cratering and no more than 100 million yr old. Regardless of which camp one follows concerning planetary and solar system formation one thing is clear, mission after mission of late virtually each and every discovery is met with surp

This video, posted earlier, may clear up the Israelite/Asiatic/Canaanite identity issue. It puts forth compelling archaeological scholarship evidence that points to the Israelites being displaced Canaanites who may have also borrowed the Shasu's god YHW when a small band escaped from Egypt en route to the Canaan highlands via Midian area and the semitic-speaking cattle nomads known as the Shasu

Thanks for the reply. I actually loaded Stellarium on my computer last week and came up a day short on May 2nd, instead of the 3rd 1374 BC for the Ugarit eclipse. I could have erred but I repeated it several times with the same result. So, the belief is that something must have impacted Earth's orbit or the length of the day prior to 709 BC.
