Archae, How where these shafts 'bored'? I would suggest that a man pounding with a diorite ball could not produce this...maybe with the ball on a stick, but i'm still not convinced. I would suggest some kind of drill but it doesn't look right for that either but would at least explain the right angled edges to the shafts. One other point....How would the AE's pound underneath the obelisk? Th

Fred, I wonder how long it would have taken them with copper/stone tools and the blocks made out of granite? They probably wouldn't have bothered and gone to pick olives instead :) Rob

Hi Alex, Good photos on that site, thanks....but NOVA's attempts to recreate obelisk moving are laughable. What relavence getting a 2 ton block on a boat and moving a 25 ton one has to the egyptian intent to do the same with a 1,165 ton block escapes me! I was like you in thinking ortho theories of unlimited time and manpower could achieve what the AE's did, but after reading GH's books and

Hi JP, Its even more impressive to actually be there....The sheer size of the obelisk is astounding, i have no idea how they expected to lift it out of the trench or how they intended to 'hammer' out the rock on the underside. The impression the site gives is that this sort of work was nothing special to the AE's....i'm sure we are missing something. If i knew how to post my photos i'd put the

Hi all, There was a programme on BBC2 last night at 7pm, (which i only saw 5mins of since i was studying) that seemed to be about a 5000 year old site in the north of england. It consisted of three 'mounds' aligned in a line with one just off line. I think the researchers were going to link it to Orion but i didn't get to see the rest of the programme. Anyone else heard of this? Rob

Indeed interesting stuff, what also might be of note is the mention that some of the waterways look to be artificial. This may add creedence to the Time River Theory of the Nile which i've read elsewhere on THE MYSTERIES. Rob

Why so dismissive Mossad? This is not a new idea, the way of measuring it is the 'new idea'. According to current science all energy in the universe is being converted into more and more stable matter - iron - by stellar evolution (ie how stars work). It will take hundreds of billions of years for this to happen assuming what we know doesnt change ie Laws of Physics and Thermodynamics. Lots

Davel, I saw an interesting program on TV in UK a few months ago. It suggested that certain events in Exodus could be explained by Santorini blowing up. The pillar of flame by night and smoke by day that Moses followed was said to have been the ash cloud, and the parting of the Reed Sea was the effect of the tidal wave...the water drained out of the Reed Sea before the wave struck allowing the

Nico, I bought Lehners book a few years ago before a trip to Eygpt as a guide to the orthodox view of Eygptology. Its a very good book, well presented, lots of diagrams and photos and it covers more than just the pyramids. It is good for facts as it details all the pyramids over all dynastys. It doesnt go into much detail though especially concerning Giza so its a bit disappointing there and y

Brian, I can't quite beleive this myself as the location doesn't make any sense. The Gulf of Aqaba is the Easternmost of the two 'fingers' at the north end of the Red Sea. That would mean Moses was fleeing into Saudi Arabia, after having already crossed the Sinai mountains/desert which trust me is no place for chariots! Anyway as far as i know current theories suggest that Red Sea in the Bible
