From Mammys little dictionary of Southern traditions: Re: the definition and symbolic use of XO...... It ain't necking...........it's pecking and only on the cheek. It becomes necking when applied in private and used as a lead into.....more personal realms of affection. Now when it is applied in public (such as this forum) it is considered only as a show of or greeting of friendship with no oth

NYTimes Monday, Jun. 24, 2002 Strike First, Explain Yourself Later Bush's new military doctrine might make sense — if anyone knew what it meant BY MICHAEL ELLIOTT You remember, of course, the Caroline incident? (Don't worry; neither did I.) In 1837 Canadian forces attacked a U.S. ship of that name, killed one of its passengers, set it on fire and then cast it adrift just above Niagara Falls. T

Hi Ron, Tho I am unfamiliar with the work of Jung or Freud my sister-in-law has studied Jungs works extensively. She finds the insights of Zohar's theories and Jungs compatible. And also comparative to the mechanics and results of the Transcendental Meditation Technique. It's interesting that they see a mergeance of Physics and consciousness "in a kind of transcendental discipline".

.................only da Shadow knows! and we just got one (or another one? ) of those this year. Tho this one was officially announced. Which is what I think is a stong contributing factor toward disatisfaction with the present administration. Even the Congress is not always informed of events or occurances until after the fact. And what used to be a system of goverment working together as

What a clear thinking man. Shame he wasn't on the panel back in the '50s when this wording was allowed in the Pledge, which seems to have been an unconstitutional act to begin with! I don't know which of the following I got the biggest chuckle out of: "He also noted that some of the criticism is being fueled by what he called "this wrap-yourself-in-the-flag frenzy."

Hi Tim, As we have some of the same questions in regards to terms such as Metaphysics, Unified Field, Bose-Einstein State, Consciousness, Self and how any of this could apply to, let alone benefit Education or the individual, I thought you might enjoy reading some articles from which I have gained a clarity and deeper understanding. Needless to say, it can't all be explained in one paragraph s

My in resident economist (Mammy) says its a real simple principle. " Trying to keep up with the Jones" and in this case the Jones are none other than ourselves. Hi Jer, I have in a musty, old corner, of my memory bank the idea that Golems were and still (tho they aren't called that anymore) created by ( in the mind) of Man. They are what one could consider figments of ones imagination. Ideas/thoughts used in a negative way, as a controlling device. Or learning tool? Often times these are created for seemingly good causes. As in the case of the parent wh

Chris, This is something I wish I was reading about in a Science Fiction book, then I could close the book after reading and know that it wasn't real just a figment of the Authors imagination. One can almost feel this heading to the Supreme Court along the same path that the Bush/Gore elections took. Tho I favored neither party, I did favor the LAW and thought that it would stand unscruplously a
