Hi Lobo, Chuckle, don't think we are going to get to use this move, in a Legal Game that is! The 2 square optional move, when the Pawn is on its original square only applys to the Pawn moving Forward. Forward in this sense of the word means straight. Diagonal is not straight (like an off ramp on the freeway:) and tho the Pawn can be seen as moving forward( in an overall sense) it is taking a di

Hi Lobo, Whew! Little mindbender going here for the novice. But first here's my 'chessmans' reply "per your instructions" tho he must add that he has rarely played Alpha-numerically so may have misguessed your placement. At any rate: (His) side of board has B-King and B-Queen in their original starting points. Nothing to Right side of board. White Pawn directly in the 1st. square in fro

Hi Lobo, Will run test with my "in house" Chessman tomorrow and get back to you with results. Please let us know if you find any further clarification. Side note: my daughter and I can beat the socks off of ole Dad in scrabble! To such an extent he doesn't like to play with us. :) But then he has it all over us when it comes to chess. Just out of curiosity, wonder if any surveys have ev

Hi Lobo, I am new to chess so your legal/illegal pawn move is beyond me to debate. However, my hubby suggested the following site. I copied over the Movement rules. On the site one can search and ask questions. Does this help? Sincerely, Pati ======================================== Movement rules Pawns can only move forward. When a pawn makes a non-capturing move, it goes one square forwa

1. Chess is irrelevant to our society because it was created by dead white guys. Not hardly :)))))))) Pati ============================================== It is generally assumed that chess originated in India, 5-7 centuries after the birth of Christ. At that time, the game was not as we know it. During the course of history, many variants of the game were tried. Some were discarded immediate

Thanks for the article Carlos. I enjoy reading about light and am fascinated by all the various fields of knowledge it is mentioned in. After reading your article I recalled a true story I had once read. Ouite awhile back so I'm forgetful on where I read it. However, I thought you might enjoy the gist of it as it relates to the varying colors of Light. A man loved to sail and in his retirement

Certain types of manure used to be transported (as everything was back then) by ship. Well, in dry form it weighs a lot less, but once water (at sea) hits it, it not only became heavier, but the process of fermentation began once again. The by product of this fermentation is methane gas. As the stuff was stored below decks in bundles you can see what could (and did) happen. Methane began to b

Thanks for the info. Has my curiosity up now. Vimana wrote "The AE creation story starts with an ocean in darkness. Then a mound of dry land rises up and the sun god Re appears. He creates light and all things." There is also something to that effect in one of the books of the Vedas. I'll see if I can find. Thanks again, Pati

I do not have the "insider position" of individual(s) who commented in your original post so I can't confirm or deny their information. I do base my observations and opinions on my own experience of having done TM since 1973. And over the years this repeated practice

Hi Beez, I can completely relate to the limitation of time to reading. Whether it be this post or other forms of information. Especially if ones interest are varied. Since the advent of the Internet it seems as tho all the Libraries of the World have been made available to one. I also agree with you where you say " one key point is that for some thing to be considered scientifically credibl

But where did our world and all that we are come from? IMO I believe evolution and creation are one and the same Will T. ============= My own idea is that we are confined in our thoughts by the idea of time, everything must have a beginning and an end and also by the idea that "the universe" is all encompassing - it is everything. Hi Davix, Following is a comment I recently had with another member on this board in which he had mentioned Jungs work, drawing some compatiable simularities to the theories of Zohar. However, we did touch on comparisons of their ideas and the compatibality of the

THE FOURTH STATE OF CONSCIOUSNESS: Pipeline to the Infinite For centuries into the past, the fourth state of consciousness has seemed as elusive as the unicorn — as much a myth, as much a merely storied essence of purity and innocence. Poems have extolled the beauties of this ineffable state, tales have identified this subtle reality as the key that unlocks the full potential of life, paintings
