Hello It’s been a while since I last posted on the GHmb I do however look in now and then to see how things are going but I see that nothing much changes still getting people talking down to others although it does seem a lot tamer now than the first few years of this mb. So just to say keep up the good work and don’t let them grind you down. Keep well Gordon

Hello Ian I must agree with you regarding the lose of life of our brave service men & women. I believe the sacrifices being made by the allied troops is in the name of freedom. But then again I also believe that any lose of life is a sad thing. And when that lose of life happens in the service of your country that should be respected and honoured. (both sides) Shame about the moderators, but

Hello All Fuzzy you should be ashamed of yourself for what you have just said. Will was just expressing a deep concern for a family member of one of the posters on this board, and you have turned it into a personal vendetta against Will. ( I Hope you Fuzzy never need sympathy for a member of your family) As for the content of the GV. Fuzzy wrote” The purpose of Global Village is to promote debate

Hello Ron and All Being an old rock an roller myself I am not sure I can even understand the idea of hypermedia let alone being part of it. I like the idea that all knowledge should be available to all people is a great idea, but can’t see this ever happening. Too many big guns would lose out. As for the future of technology what I would like to see most on the internet is some kind of language t

Hello P/red You wrote "There you go - taking away my 'right' to free speech. That's not freedom you preach." No I haven't taken away your right to free speech you just proved that by replying. what I was saying was, showing your "right" to freedom by going to a place you felt was just. the rest of you post spoke for it's self, it's ok if "You" think it's ok. keep w

Hello Will Good to see you made it back (on this mb) ok. I have been sitting on the side for a while. But couldn’t help but butt in with a statement that P/Red made “Haven't you ever stopped to think that perhaps your allegiance to the US military, couple with your old age, may in fact be hindering your ability to accept the truth? You come from a time when the media and information was complete

Nice one Drak for a bit of balance this is one someone sent me (no offence to anyone intended) "The Iraqi Ambassador to the UN has just finished giving a speech, and walks out into the lobby where he meets President Bush. They shake hands and as they walk the Iraqi says, "You know, I have just one question about what I have seen in America." President Bush says "Well yo

Hi Kees Yes it is a sad time for all. I personally don’t think wars will ever solve anything. Surely the time has come were we can all find better ways to live in peace. We just need a little understanding all round and a desire for peace. I have never understood how a leader of a country could deliberately let his people suffer so much. Saddam is not the only leader to do this there have been q

Hello Will Nice to hear from you I hope all is well with yours. Drak wrote "Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the

Hello all The bit I found intriguing was the bit about the radiation belt they would have to pass through. Someone on the program said “if their space suits could withstand that level of radiation way don’t they wear them to clean up three mile island” Sounds like a reasonable suggestion. Keep well Gordon

Enjoyer or should I say Jeffrey Archer (have they started to let prisoners access to the internet now) I too wonder why you bothered to reply to this thread but you did so here goes. The reason I admire Paul Kelleher is not because of his violence, destruction or being sick it’s because he hit out at an image of someone who was all of those thinks. I take it you are a Thatcherite and will never a
