Hi Thomas,

You reiterated :

"...Einstein once opined, "Never remember anything you know you can look up."!"

From "Hamlet's Mill" :

"At the point in question, Thot/Hermes is feeling very proud of himself for having invented letters, and he claims that the alphabet will make the Egyptians wiser and improve their memory. Plato has the god Thamus, "king of all Egypt," speak to him:

"Most ingenious Theuth," said the god and king Thamus, "... and now you, who are the father of letters, have been led by your affection to ascribe to them a power the opposite of that which they really possess. For this invention will produce forgetfulness in the minds of those who learn to use it, because they will not practise their memory. Their trust in writing, produced by external characters which are no part of themselves, will discourage the use of their own memory within them. You have invented an elixir not of memory, but of reminding; and you offer your pupils the appearance of wisdom, not true wisdom, for they will read many things without instruction and will therefore seem to know many things, when they are for the most part ignorant and hard to get along with, since they are not wise, but only appear wise." [www.bibliotecapleyades.net]

Would not fixing a precise date for Zep Tepi be useful as a marker for your thesis "The Christmas Code?" It appears the difficulty which you have is one of accurate measurement.

Any year in the Great Year can be Year 1. But, for example, the alignment of the Belt Stars with the pyramids of Giza could not possibly be used. As yourself and others have opined, there is a 1500 year epoch involved.

The equinox sun moving into Leo? Again, can that event be measured as to an exact year?

A single marker is insufficient as THE one. There must be some form of cross reference (at least one).

Stecchini stated the following :

"The two most important points in the world are the points where the ecliptic meets the equator, the equinoctial points. Ancient astronomical systems considered as the year zero, the year from which the shifts in the position of the stars resulting from the precession of the equinoxes begin to be counted. According to the basic conception, the happy time prevailed long ago when the equinoxes were near the stars a Gemini and g Sagittarii. At this time not only the circle of the ecliptic and the circle of the equator met at one point, but the circle of the Milky Way as well, which then formed a right angle with the circle of the equator." [metrum.org]

How close is Stecchini's Year Zero to 12 000 BC?

lover
