Hi Michael - Good question. The celestial clock is pretty precise. With the current rate of precession at ~50.3 arc seconds per year it means we tick off slightly less than 1 arc second per week. Using the Autumnal Equinox as the hour hand, and the 12 constellations as the 12 numbers on the celestial clock face (with Aries in its normal zenith position, at 12 o'clock) then we are currently around 6:50AM. There is a picture of the clock in this short video: [www.youtube.com]

In other words, if you look up in the sky the Autumnal Equinox is near the end of Virgo not quite into Leo, just about 1500 years from the bottom of the clock (the Dark Age pit), a few hundred years in to the ascending Bronze Age, and still very far from the last or next Golden Age! If this were a day we would be hearing "cock-a-doodle-do" with most people just waking up. The early risers were our renaissance scientists.

Of course many people use the spring or Vernal Equinox (the opposite time of year), as the hour hand for convenience sake. By this account, we see the sun (on the VE) near the end of Pisces approaching Aquarius (thus the old saying we are now in the "dawning of the age of Aquarius).

Both work to show the rate of time passing but the problem with using the VE versus the AE is that the VE shows we are in the Golden age (if Aires is in its normal position), and we haven't had a Dark Age in over 10,000 years, which is a pretty good clue that clock is upside down!

But no matter which method you prefer astronomers agree on the rate the sun is moving across the sky (precession) and lots of people appear to be intuiting some sort of awakening now happening. I liked Lew's comments about this.
