Hi Walter,

Welcome to the AoM board. This is probably not an original thought but I can just imagine our very ancient ancestors watching the sky over generations and through studying the movements of stars along the ecliptic as compared with circumpolar stars discovering the first insights into circular geometry, ihgher mathematics and the nature and movement of time and space that our species were able to infer. Precession as the inspiration for mathematical reasoning and rational thought?

Best,
Brian
