It makes a big difference to me in regards to how the message is sent, or the intention. What I am sensing here is that it doesn't seem to matter how we get the message, as long as we get it. What if Castaneda was knowingly committing fraud? Just knowingly and outright lying to possibly make a few bucks? And he certainly made many, many bucks because he sure could tell a good yarn.
I will be honest with you. I have never read any of his books. I tried at one time but my intuition, my gut feelings, just said no.
If he was lying, imagine the Karmic return on such a betrayal to his readers and himself? I would need to do more research, but it doesn't sound so far from what I gathered that Castaneda found much contentment in the latter years of his life, in fact it seemed rather miserable.
