SC: .. we see little reason why these later giant pyramids would have a different function to the first giant pyramids. ...
DB: All well and good but please offer us proof or at least why Giza would also fit in here as a recovery vault.
SC: Because we have clear unequivocal evidence from Djoser's pyramid at Saqqara of exactly what was placed inside that pyramid. We see little reason to doubt that this would not also have applied to the Meidum, Dahshur and Giza pyramids although these have - as was the intent - been picked clean. We are fortunate indeed that a couple of the numerous vaults under Djoser's pyramid complex were left with their cache of 'recovery goods' still intact.
DB: And it is not my theory at all. It is simply an alternative to yours. I simply ask why should we believe yours and not the one on the link I provided. It says it is a contemporary source and gives a reason for why it might have been built.
SC: As Gary and I stated in our opening post, Don:
"For those who have other beliefs/theories as to the true nature and purpose of these structures then it is for them to argue and present the evidence to support their own case elsewhere - this is not the time or the place for a discussion of those other theories be they power plants, hydraulic pumps, solar concentrators, tombs, alien landing beacons or whatever."
The above applies to all other theories - yours or someone else's.
DB: Yours does no such thing. It is I am afraid total speculation with no basis in any written or historical context.
SC: Alas, Don, the large cache of 'recovery goods' found in two of the many vaults below Djoser's pyramid begs to differ.
