This is a good line and cuts to the heart of the matter, of determining when its synchronicity vs seeing synchronicity everywhere.
When we define synchronicity as being the 'actual' interaction of transdimensional intelligence in mundane affairs, we draw a distinction between that interaction and the contrived perception of patterns.
People who indulge in the latter tend to ignore the 'perhaps' in Daniel's statement, and get emotionally attached to the process to the point where they can't really distinguish the real thing from the fictitious. As such they make great bait for new agers who are always looking for people who 'want to believe'.
As I understand the term, Synchronicity is always the real deal and it comes from the causal level of reality where are soul patterns are determined. The path it offers, if one sees signs pointing in a particular direction, should always be followed. Intuition is the guide and with that standard held close to the vest, it is especially easy to note when somebody is trying to connect the dots verses seeing Pattern.
