The trouble with typewritten dialogue is that we cannot always gauge correctly correspondents' emotions and true intentions. I remember when I first started posting opinions on GH website. I mentioned that in ancient times, the Hindus regarded the Rakshasas, a race of North Indian Cro-Magnon savages, as "Brutes." Immediately, a few writers intuited that I was a "vile white racist" for doing this. One said I was surreptitiously seeking to infect GH website with White racism. It did not occur to them that the Cro-Magnons, who were just barely a step or two above the Neanderthals, and not yet modern Homo Sapiens Sapiens, could not have been labeled otherwise.
I think that Mick, upon finding out that all the readers misjudged his intent, began to get somewhat defensive.
