Dear Dane,
For me, a great proof of death and subsequent rebirth in the flesh is the fact that so-called "time" seems to speed up as people get older. When we're young, time hangs on us just like leaches. When I was a kid, I saw people as old as I am now (75), and they seemed as far away in time as the moon is high in space. Now, what seems like a week to a young person, just seems like a day or two to me. Also, when I look back, it seems that my youth was just yesterday. This can mean only one thing. We take our life's experiences with us as we age, leaving nothing behind. The acceleration toward death is just a closing of the gap between life and death. In short, this acceleration increases because we're remembering we've been on this trip before.
