I just wonder what makes languages classify things as male and female?
In German, there is DER MOND and DIE SONNE = the moon being male, the sun female.
That some see it the other way round could be understood by the sun being bigger, and the moon seemingly connected with the female monthly cycle.
Thank goodness that English does not have gender differences for objects! Maybe boats and cars? Men like to make them female " fill her up" etc.
