Earth is a closed system.

Whatever carbon, methane etc that is released, or may be released, into the atmosphere has been captured and stored from an earlier period in the planet's history.

Nothing is being created anew.

At one time (pre humans) there was more CO2, N in the air than today, yet the planet survived.

What if we were alive in times of yore with an approaching Ice Age.

Would a solution be to burn as much carbon as possible to heat the atmosphere in an attempt to stop it before we all froze to death?

Maybe.

Gaia, my friend, is in control. Not humans.

And, if one believes that death is inevitable but only a doorway to life, then what does it matter?

Relax.
