Hallo again Ray,

Maybe I misunderstood your question; I thought you wanted to know the difference between lsd and ayahuasca so I gave an answer to that question. My mistake!
My second remark: “There is no way you can approach this in a theoretical way and expect it to be fruitful.” doesn’t seem to interest you though it is essential.
But let’s forget about that…

As for the silverstein narrative: I found it very predictable, the humor of a mealy kind and the moral of the story smelled like a musty inside of an old church.
But let’s forget about that too…

-“Fats apparently reached a very high state of spiritual enlightenment without substances.”
This is a very common misunderstanding: that there is a state of enlightenment to be reached; an achievement to be made; a result to be realized. There is nothing to be reached and therefore “the perfect high” does not exist.
But let’s forget about that…

-“It seems to me that Daniel (and maybe you as well) have found something at least as enlightening as the decades of meditation and life discipline Fats (maybe) and me for sure (not to mention my famous models).”
That’s not the point; you are creating a dualism here that is absolutely unnecessary and can only lead to conflict and violence as it normally does.
But let’s forget about that…

For me all those experiences lay far in the past; I left them behind me.
Before that I left institutionalized religion behind me.
After that I also left meditation behind me; I do not need that anymore.

The substances I carry in my blood and in my genes and therefore they’re always with me even though I left them behind me.
After decades of meditation I have become meditation and therefore the practice is not needed anymore.
Remember the words of the old Krishnamurti:

“If you sit down to meditate you can be very sure that THAT is not meditation”.

Figure it out what he meant by that; it’s worth your time!

Naveen.
