Hi Darryl

It sounds like you've made an a prior presumption about what can and cannot happen under these conditions? I'm not saying that this is the explanation, not by a long shot. But I wouldn't rule it out.

"Why would an observing spirit require me to have a certain mental state (focused inattention)?"

The idea in favour of this, or something like this, is that the goal of some spirits involves the subject enabling their will to become taken over... I'm sure that you've read on demonic possession and that sort of thing. Whether it is true or not is one thing, but there's the traditional angle to which I refer.

"Why would an observing spirit cause
> physiological sensations in my body, when the
> phenomenon is outside the body?"

That's a good question, and I suppose your test is different than the ouija board. If you were to ask me about that experiment, following through on your answer here, I would suggest that the internal sense you feel may involve the spirit assuming partial control of your internal system, in order to move your hands about.

Nonetheless, this is really not a digression I care to go into, nor one that I'm sure you want to discuss. Your findings on PK sound very interesting, and as I have said, I don't think that it 'necessarily' involves other spirits. Only that it may. Going the other way, I have been intrigued, in the past, regarding how PK (poltergeist) phenomenon tends to be strongly associated with adolescence, a relatively brief time when our emotions are often over the top. Perhaps this relates to the tapping into a certain or very particular kind of intensity that positively influenced your own results, one that you were able to generate within yourself through disciplined practice?

These streams of thought often lead to unanswerable dichotomies. Take, for example, super high quality premonitions, the kinds that the subject concludes, or knows, cannot be due to random happenstance: is the subject receiving a transmission from an other who knows what's around the corner? ; or is the individual subject's greater awareness cognizant of what's around the corner - a part of each of us that is so foreign to us, at this point, that we are inclined to consider it an other?

Regards, PB
