You have probably noticed that I have responded to drayeye's post. I am now re-reading the thread. I do not doubt your sincerity and idealism, or your desire to encourage more people to think more humanely but I do
Wonder how much you include an understanding of the tofE and how we, an animal species, have evolved as we have. Please correct me if I am entirely wrong on this!
Our instinctive altruism - exhibited by other animals but not with the sophistication that the human species is lucky enough to have - has enabled our species to survive very successfully. We ( i.e. those who realise that not just that vague 'something must be done' idea, but that an enormous effort must be made by enough people world-wide to keep our planet in a condition which enables this survival to continue), successfully. Have a responsibility to work in every way we can to achieve this.
May I ask, in connection with some of the other things you have said in this particular topic, whether you, throughout your life, have kept a record of the hits and misses with regard to your supposed knowledge gained from shamans etc?
Please note, I am asking this with genuine interest, as I am saddened by so much adherence by so many to any kind or form of supernaturalism since, even with the ever-increasing objective information we and scientists are learning, there remains zero objective evidence for any of it, i.e. anything at all supernatural. It is Science in all its forms and throughout history which has taken humans forward in knowledge and its acquisition, not any supernatural beliefs. Those with ideas which they have associated or connected with spirits etc, and which they them wemt on to test to see whether they were right or not were the ones who took knowledge and understanding of reality further and forward. It has all been done by our evolved, human brains. Why is it, do you think, that so many people give the credit to entirely subjective entities of one sort or another instead?
