when i was in university i did a summer camp in what they called archeaometry at the time. it was the first days of practical ground penetrating radar etc. the subject area was a really nice "estate" that had been in the same loyalist family since the american revolution and they wanted our class to find the original homestead.

what we found was a city in indigenous terms. and that was the end of that. i have often thought it was norumbega looking at the maps and the geography but will we ever know. it was a city.
