The identity of Denisovans as archiac humans of great size and stature was something I proposed back in 2014 in my contributions to the book Path of Souls: The Native American Death Journey by Greg Little.

In here I proposed that the Denisovans were the forerunners of the giant elite that controlled North America's mound-building cultures, especially during the Adena period.

Here is the text taken from that piece, which is entitled: "The Coming of the Giants: The Rise of the Human Hybrids":

http://www.andrewcollins.com/page/articles/denisovan.htm

Since that time the idea has been taken up wholesale by archaeologists and the general public, and I still feel this is the correct answer - some Denisovans at least were of enormous stature. Think the Great Khalil, the WWE wrestler. He has the correct physique, large head, even though his long chin would not have been characteristic of Denisovans. They are likely to have had very little chin at all.

Anyway, I am confident that the further time goes by the more we are going to know about Denisovan physiology, and this will, I suspect, bear out their large stature.
