I have gratefully found a link to a definition of Soul that ranges across many cultures, at least in the West. This word is very old, as one can see in the link below.

This link emphasizes the common usage of the word that inherently implies that just about any culture implied the soul as a real DESCRIPTION of personhood, in the ephemeral mode.

Does it mean that it is real? That is the question put to all of those people who were convinced of its existence, inside of the mortal being. Sure, there has yet, and not apparently, been any research done on this subject, as far as I know, today. I will be looking into this to find ANY soul research.

This last video clearly indicates an independent agent in the mind. It behooves a realist view on consciousness, as a factual state of being.
