Still, the very idea of fish tells of a preconceived notion of an earlier, pre-literate time when the "gods" had influence over the human population. It is difficult to verify and to confirm ANY ideas of the far past, even with any indigenous tales currently pending in the tribes that remain. I have no other choice except to correlate the fish symbolism with Ea. Even the ancient native South and Central Americans imply a fish-man as the "teacher" of civilization.

I have read so much that I can't remember where I heard of such things.
