Andrew, I was referring to the score mark on the inside, which must have been made by a spinning disc. The same sort of thing is seen on the inside of the two large skulls. It doesn't have to be a stone disc, it just needs to be inlaid with microdiamonds around the periphery. A hardwood disc with diamond powder stuck on with resin would surely work?

By the way on many if not all of these pieces there are small circular score marks indicating a bow drill. See the large blue-grey and white agate cow god/frog (figures 5.2 and 5.20 in my book) for evidence of the to and fro motion of a bow drill.
