In view of the artistic merit and extraordinary diversity of Hongshan carvings I find it inconceivable that they were not traded extensively. After all, a man cannot live by jade alone, and the carvers had to eat. So is anyone aware of any of the possible Hongshan icons or carvings appearing in ancient tombs outside Northern China?
