So interesting that in this one response you've touched upon two things that have influenced me - the Lakota "way" and Jung's "way" of transcendent function and active imagination. The Lakota way is in my opinion a profoundly sophisticated and effective one, not only from a spiritual perspective but from a psychotherapeutic one as well - we might say, a sophisticated psycho-spiritual technology.
As you problably know, the Lakota way centers around the idea of "seeking visions", but they also understand the need and the value of what we are calling integration, and these interrelated efforts might be seen to correspond to Jung's ideas of "transcendent function" and "active imagination". Although I'm not really writing specifically about the Lakota way in my work, it is to me one of the best examples of what I'm describing. But then again, I think what we're all beginning to see more clearly these days is the confluence between ancient spiritual practices and modern ideas from the fields of psychology and psychiatry. And of course Jung and W. James and others were attuned to that.
Anyway - as they say on Game of Thrones, your watch (as AOM) has ended. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your work and your time with us.
