Cannabis, most everyone knows, is generally (but not always) safer and more manageable than the so-called major entheogens like ayahuasca, psilocybin, peyote and the others. The range of appropriate "containers" is probably much greater with the flexible cannabis plant than with most of those other medicines, especially when the dose is strong with one of them.
One setting is particularly simpatico with cannabis use, especially when the intention is spiritual (in the largest sense of the word.) Nothing very magical is likely to occur if you're continually talking or thinking. But if you can quiet the thinking mind and just be in nature, the amplifying, enhancing capability of the plant can dramatically deepen your appreciation of the beauty all around you. If you haven't taken some good cannabis and gone for a quiet, reverent walk in the woods, either alone or with companions who also understand the value of a quiet mind, you might even be amazed at how moved you are. As the great poet/artist/mystic William Blake (1757-1827) put it:
To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour.
