I suppose it depends on your definition of spirituality and whether or not you can measure and quantify that definition. Some researchers have tried to document near-death experience and changes in brain function due to various stimulation under laboratory conditions - no?
So my answer would have to be yes with the caveat that no scientific laws or even theories have been documented from this line of research - yet!
Many great scientists have considered themselves to be spiritual persons in different ways including Einstein and Newton. But personal beliefs are different and far removed from scientific methodology.
