The best I can tell, what the ancients believed was the active ingredient in this liquid stone is irrelevant to the color. The color was a product of a compound called siderite also in the dissolved stone which they mistook for red ochre. After being dissolved the "stone" reaggregated in the fountain of youth. I find it remarkable that the alchemists speak a strange language that is vaguely similar to the ancient language. The word "chemistry" and "alchemy" probably come from an ancient city virtually at the foot of the Great Pyramid; "Chemis". These are not coincidences. There are no coincidences.
