Hi Mr. Tindall; I will not try to enter this conversation simply because of my poverty of language and expression but your last sentence rings very true to me and I am looking forward to this new book. I have experienced the truth of this conditioned perception early in life, 1968 Viet Nam, and the experience altered how I see ever since. I haven't read "The Shamanic Odyssey" yet but I did just finish reading "The Jaguar That Roams The Mind" . I am still evaluating the effects this book had on me. I will be starting The Shamanic Odyssey today. It took me a couple of days to get through the last couple of chapters of the Jaguar. It was just too difficult to get through. Reality can be so impossible at times. I lived in Guatimala in the early 70's in the state of Batan in a small village deep in the jungle. I don't remember the name but I called it womb. At the time I was addicted to the jungle and to the people that lived with in it. At the time I was writing home a lot trying to convince my friends of the genocide I was seeing but my words were not credible and it was 15 years before the news got out that some 50,000 humans had been slaughtered in that country. Your book brought all that back to me. I remember that my dream was to one day head to the Amazon and learn about the Shamanic way but in those days I could not stand still for more than a moment and now in my doderige the opertunity seems even more remote. I have very mixed feelings about becoming a Shamanic tourist yet I still feel deep in my bones a need for this healing. I guess time will tell. A thought did occur to me yesterday after finally getting through t hat last chapter. I have been following very closely for the last two and a half years the events unfolding in Japan involving the on-going nuclear melt down and contamination of the pacific and really the entire planet and it hit me that as my fellow humans are busy making sure that this jewel of a planet will no longer be able to support life as we know it, that maybe, just maybe, the Shamans will have a leg up on the species and be led by the plants to help start this all over again. Maybe this has happened many times in the past few hundred thousand years. I don't know, I'm just an old retired horse trainer but they sure taught me more then I ever taught them. Anyway, I love your work and how your mind works and hope one day to meet you and Susana and maybe join you down there for a healing or maybe just to rejoin the human part of life.
Take care;

Tom
