I told him that in Canada we call Coca-Cola ( and all other beverages of like) 'pop', and he countered with a bit of a laugh and said that he was surprised the Canadians haven't 'graduated' to the modern term 'soda.'
We got to debating some more, and other terms came up that I had noticed are different since my stay here in California began.
I say 'bathroom' and 'washroom'
Americans say 'restroom' -
- incidentally on my drive down here some years ago, when I'd stop and ask to use either of the first 2 terms, I was given a puzzled look in exchange. I thought it was obvious ....
There were other words too, but my memory escapes me as I write this. Any thoughts on this debate?
