And my condolences go out to his wife and children. I met his wife, Terri, when she still lived in the States. She's a nice lady and very passionate about wild life.
However....... I thought at times, Steve was a bit reckless and over confident when it came to dangerous animals. Such as the time he held is infant son just a few feet from a crocodile he was teasing. A person like that has a tendency to think they are invincible, hence he was quoted as saying "I was in complete control the whole time. Complete control". Are we ever really in complete control of nature? When you think about the chances of being stabbed in the heart by a stingray barb are about 3 million to one, I cannot help, but wonder, what really happened? It is very sad.
