He was able to really teach, not stupid in your face pamphlets, not running around in the buff being an attention whore, not destroying peoples property. He taught kids and adults what these enviroments are like. Why they are the way they are, and why they need to be protected. IMO, all the greenies do is cheapen any message they might have by acting the way they do. Then don't educate, they don't demonstrate why......(not talking about the protest demonstrate)....these animals defend themselves the way they do, they really don't do anything of any use other than stink up the streets during protests.
Steve Irwin was obviously a little off his rocker.......but so are most extremely passionate people. Same with extremely intelligent people. Usually out there. The guys wife has to be a saint.
As for the "Distress" comment, the person obviously never had surgery, a cavity drilled, or a shot. His animals were the shot to the wild so that "real" human beings would get the picture about not destroying certain habitats, not having to swim around the great barrier reef.
Someone had to go to these places and take pictures for us. Someone had to show us what we shouldn't do. Its because of people like him that they are still there. Otherwise you'd have complete dolts running the show and making sure "nobody" ever goes to these places.......with the exception of.......them.
