It's difficult to know exactly what this film, "The Secret" is about without seeing it but from the trailer, I'm fairly certain that when it speaks of "the secret that has been passed down through all the ages - those that new it, harnessed its power - those that knew it became the greatest people in history", it's about certain Freemasons and the secrets the way were pursuing and having money helped buy into the secret. The trailer lists a number of men, most of whom, if not all, were Freemasons, including Rockefeller and Sir Winston Churchill. Following are some clues what secrets the film may be about. The celebrated Mason, Albert Pike, wrote:
"There is in nature one most potent force, by means whereof a single man, who could possess himself of it, and should know how to direct it, could revolutionize and change the face of the world.
This force was known to the ancients. It is a universal agent, whose Supreme law is equilibrium; and whereby, if science can but learn how to control it, it will be possible to change the order of the Seasons, to produce in night the phenomena of day, to send a thought in an instant round the world, to heal or slay at a distance, to give our words universal success, and make them reverberate everywhere.
This agent, partially revealed by the blind guesses of the disciples of Mesmer, is precisely what the Adepts of the middle ages called the elementary matter of the great work. The Gnostics held that it composed the igneous body of the Holy Spirit; and it was adored in the secret rites of the Sabbat or the Temple, under the hieroglyphic figure of Baphomet or the hermaphroditic goat of Mendes."
From: "Morals and Dogma", the chapter: "Knight of the Sun or Prince Adept" [in a discussion for the 28th degree of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry], by Albert Pike, L.H. Jenkins, Inc., 1950; p.818
(A Sabbat is "an assembly or celebration of witches or other occultists, usually held on astrologically significant days and hours." - Kent Philpott, A Manual of Demonology and the Occult, p. 160; Zonderavan; Grand Rapids, Mich)
Manly P. Hall wrote:
"When the Mason learns that the key to the warrior on the block is the proper application of the dynamo of living power, he has learned the mystery of his Craft. The seething energies of Lucifer are in his hands..." - The Lost Keys to Freemasonry, Manly P. Hall, published by the Macoy Publishing and Masonic Supply Company, Inc., Richmond, Virginia, 1976, p.48
According to Freemason Hall, ceremonial magic is about "invoking and controlling spirits":
"Ceremonial magic is the ancient art of invoking and controlling spirits by a scientific application of certain formulae. A magician, enveloped in sanctified vestments and carrying a wand inscribed with hieroglyphic figures, could by the power vested in certain words and symbols control the invisible inhabitants of the elements and of the astral world." - Manly P. Hall, The Secret Teachings of All Ages
