Finally got to see it last night.
Very good, they managed to get quite a few of the 'set pieces' into the film. Whilst it's not very 'laughing out loud' funny there are the usual class lines you'd expect.
The cast were very good, Martin Freeman is superb as Arthur, and the yanks grew on me by the end of the film. Alan Rickman was perfect as Marvin (not enough of him though).
Special effects were extremely good and there is probably enough to keep an HHGTTG 'virgin' interested. It does help knowing what's going on before you see it though :)
Roll on the other 4 in the trilogy. It's better than the TV series definately but then the TV series had a miniscule budget. The film does leave stuff out though but necessarily so otherwise it'd be hours long and be quite hard to follow.
