I've recently become equally suspicious and curious about dowsing, so I felt that I needed to experience it personally. I've purchased some rods but i'm yet to take them out into the field.

I especially doubt their ability to locate water or precious metals but ley lines make more sense to me. The most basic experiment that every student does on day one of physics class is to sprinkle lead fillings on a page over a magnet to see the magnetic field. Our planet obviously acts like a giant magnet in itself so there may be something to it.

Any views on this subject? And any tips would be appreciated.
