It has come to our attention that the new software is having an effect on URLs within the quoted portion of the post, which can have an effect on any further URL links and quote commands (the one in the editing options that uses square bracket tags for quoting external text). What is happening is that when you press the quote option, it is taking the members text and splitting it into smaller lines of text effectively inserting a line break. this can have the unfortunate effect of splitting a url over 2 or more lines, which confuses the site software. The software effectively thinks that a url command has been opened, but cannot find the end of teh url.
This then means that any further url's will not work, and neither will the square bracket quote function, including any new ones you use in your own text after the quoted post's text, even if the syntax is correct.
To circumvent this, if you are wishing to use urls etc in your own part of teh post, please be sure that any urls in the quoted portion of the text is on one complete line, and be mindful not to include any of the chevrons that begin each line break within the url. By doing the former you will make sure that all links in your new post will be clickable, and the latter will make sure that the url will take you to the correct site address.
Also, be mindful when using the quote option, that it does make the size of a post longer, and can be more convoluted and harder to follow, particularly if there have been multiple instances of using the Quote option in a sub-thread.
