Well, I suppose that's how you define witchcraft.

second sight, dowsing, etc. all have their roots and current foliage in the folk tradition, particularly the rural South. I'd guess that sort of stuff always lumped together with inherent fear and whipped-up emotions a la auto-da-fe's of varying nationality, time and degree.

Therefore, most of this tradition is hidden and transmited orally. Some might be upset that I'm even alluding to it, but I'm just referencing some orthodox texts on the subject of barn imagery in pennsylvania. Plus, my lineage has particular dispensations, so to speak.

Interesting tidbit re: muscadines and scuppernogs...I believe they were the reason the Vikings called this continent "Vinland". I could be mistaken on tht one, though.

That's a long, rambling obtuse post to your question, but I suppose the anser is yes and no, depending on the scope of the term used.

I'd rather think of it as a sense of wonder and joy that we can experience just by noticing the world around us. It's a wonderful world that we live in.

I do believe that the phenomena of 'weavings' or 'crop circles' is not man-made; it's an expression of cognition.

cogito ergo sum
